CB&Q 4901 SILVER SLUMBER
Description:
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4901 SILVER SLUMBER, date, location, and photographer unknown, Chuck Zeiler collection. I think this was a CB&Q public relation photograph, the print was unmarked except for a hand written notation "CB&Q Slunbercoach". Number 4901 was built by Budd on Job 9691-169 for four Slumbercoaches ( #'s 4900 - 4903, Plan 9540 ), ordered in February 1955, delivered between October - November 1956. They contained 24 single and eight double bedrooms. Nu8mber 4901 went to Amtrak, becoming AMTK 2021, was converted to HEP in April 1980 and renumbered AMTK 2085, retired by Amtrak in September 1996.
