GN 4-8-4 #2582 - Great Northern
Nice roster shot of Great Northern 4-8-4 "Northern" type #3582. History - Built by Baldwin, 3/1930, According to several steam authorities, the S-2 class was used in dual service but best fit for fast passenger service. Specs - serial #61236, class S-2, oil burner, 80" drivers, 29 x 29 cylinders, a 225 psi boiler pressure, a weight of 420,900 lbs and a tractive effort of 58,300 pounds. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo.
