Description:
Good example of a Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado built originally as CCC & StL 6113 (serial #50671) in November of 1918. The loco was renumbered in 1936 to NYC #1724 and again renumbered in 1951 to NYC 6313. The loco served for nearly 35 years before retirement in February of 1953 and then scrapped a month later. Specs - H-6a class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine weight of 300,500 lb, tractive effort of 54,720 lb. The photo is from the Howard. W. Ameling collection.
